Vinay Sharma IIT Mumbai

I got an email form the Vinay Sharma staying that I got a job in IIT Mumbai. I didn’t apply at the institute yet and the email address also containing the gmail domain so I have a doubt that it is spam mail? Is Vinay Sharma related to IIT Mumbai? if yes,then what is the designation of him at the institute?
