Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) has made significant contributions in the development of improved cultivars and their relevant production, protection and processing technologies in fourteen mandated crops, covering cereals, coarse millets, pulses, oilseeds, fodder, fibre and horticultural crops.

These crop varieties have been widely adopted in their recommended areas / agro-climatic zones.

Pusa Komal

Characterstics
Pusa Komal is a hybrid between an exotic variety Pink Parfait and an indigenous variety Suchitra. The short to medium stature bushes are completely thornless. The variety possesses strong stems with multiple flower buds arranged in different heights, which open in a sequential manner. The pink colored buds are pointed in shape and unfurl in to double flowers. The variety produces very attractive pink coloured flowers. This variety is moderately tolerant to insect pest like thrips and powdery

Pusa Ajay is a hybrid between two exotic varieties Pink Parfait and Queen Elizabeth. Pusa Ajay is a vigorous growing bushy variety that produces highly pigmented vegetative parts, which are reddish brown to bronze in colour. The plant can be easily distinguishable from a distance due to its pigmentation. The leaves are moderately glossy. A recurrent blooming variety. The pink coloured buds are pointed in shape and unfurl in to double flowers. The neck of the flower is short and hence the flowers
