The age criteria for OBC candidate for UPSC Civil service exam is 21 years to 35 years. Union Public Service Commission conduct Civil Services Examination for recruitment to various services and posts. Educational qualification: Degree of any of the universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a university under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. Age limit: Age must be between 21 years and not more than 32 years In case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST category, the upper age limit is relaxable up to five years. In case of OBC candidates, the upper age limit is relaxable up to three years). The candidates should be the citizens of India for the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service. Number of attempts: The candidates can apply to a maximum of six times. The candidates belonging to OBC category can apply for a total of nine times. This restriction on the number of attempts will not apply in case of Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe candidates. UPSC Civil Services Exam syllabus General Studies Paper I Maximum marks : 200 Number of Questions : 100 Total Time : 120 minutes (02 hours) Syllabus 1. Current events of national and international importance 2. History of India and Indian national movement 3. Indian and World Geography 4. Indian Polity and governance 5. Economic and social development 6. General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change 7. General Science General Studies Paper II Maximum marks : 200 Number of Questions : 80 Total Time : 120 minutes (02 hours) Syllabus 1. Comprehension 2. Interpersonal skills which include communication skills 3. Logical reasoning & analytical ability 4. Decision making & problem solving 5. General mental ability 6. Basic numeracy 7. Indian Administrative Service exam conducted by UPSC .It is a paper-pen based competitive exam ie. CSE (Civil Service Examination) held every year. Eligibility:- Candidates must have done Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University . Applicants appearing for their final year degree exam are also eligible to apply Age Limit:- Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years. Age Relaxation:- (i) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to OBC Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. (ii) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. UPSC IAS Exam Books |
