University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Management Entrance Test is a state level entrance test conducted for the admission in postgraduate level management programmes. The entrance test is for selecting the most deserving applicants in management courses.

UPES MET Examination Pattern:

Entrance test will be of 2 and half hours duration.
No negative marking will be done for wrong answer.
Test paper will consist of 160 objective type questions.
Each question will have four options and candidates are supposed to mark right one.

General English:
Essay, precis and other descriptive questions, error recognition; vocabulary, spellings, sentence structure, grammar and its usage, synonyms, antonyms, phrases and idiomatic use of words

Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency:
Data Interpretation based on text, graphs and tables, Column graphs, Bar Graphs, Line charts, Pie Chart, Graphs representing Area, Venn Diagram, Critical reasoning, Visual reasoning, Assumption-Premise-Conclusion, Assertion and reasons, Statements and assumptions, identifying valid inferences, identifying Strong arguments and Weak arguments, Statements and conclusions, Cause and Effect, Identifying Probably true, Probably false, definitely true, definitely false kind of statement, Linear arrangements, Matrix arrangements, Puzzles, Syllogisms, Functions, Family tree – identifying relationship among group of people, Symbol Based problems, Coding and decoding , Sequencing, identifying next number in series.

General Awareness:
Current Affairs, Business, Punch line of companies, Top officials of big companies, Major corporate events, Books and authors, Science, History, Geography, International, organizations, Famous award and prizes, World Records, Sports, Finance, Automobiles, Social issues, Entertainment, Politics, Important quotations

Analytical & Logical Reasoning:

Statements and conclusions, Cause and Effect, Identifying Probably true, Probably false, definitely true, definitely false kind of statement, Linear arrangements, Matrix arrangements, logical puzzles, Direction Puzzles, Relations ship puzzles, symbol based problems.
