Re: University Of Pacific 5 Year Dental Program

The University of the Pacific is a private university in Stockton, California. It was established on 10 July 1851. Pacific is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Pre-Dental Advantage Program

The Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and College of Pacific offer a unique program for incoming freshmen.

There are three accelerated programs to choose from.

The five-year program (2+3) allows undergraduate students to apply to the School of Dentistry after two years and earn their D.D.S. in three years.

For those who are interested in obtaining a bachelor’s degree, there are six- and seven-year programs.

2+3

Requirements for Consideration –

3.70 High School GPA (on a 4.00 scale) and either an ACT composite score of at least 31 or a combined SAT Critical Reading and Math score of 1350

Students admitted to the program take a prescribed list of general education and science courses as undergraduates in the College of the Pacific.

After two years of study, they are eligible to apply for admission to the School of Dentistry.

3+3

Requirements for Consideration –

Option 1:

Students admitted using this option will be reviewed for the 2+3 program after their second semester at Pacific.

The requirements are at least a 3.60 High School GPA (on a 4.00 scale) and either an ACT composite score of at least 31 or a combined SAT Critical Reading and Math score of 1350 (with a minimum Critical Reading score of 630).

Option 2:

Students admitted using this option do not have the option of moving into the 2+3 program.

The requirements are at least a 3.60 High School GPA (on a 4.00 scale) and either an ACT composite score of at least 29 or a combined SAT Critical Reading and Math score of 1270 (with a minimum Critical Reading score of 600).

Students accepted into the program major in chemistry or biological sciences and obtain a bachelor’s degree from the College of the Pacific after completing three academic years on the Stockton campus and one year at the School of Dentistry

4+3

Requirements for Consideration –

3.50 High School GPA (on a 4.00 scale) and either an ACT composite score of at least 27 or a combined SAT Critical Reading and Math score of 1210 (with a minimum Critical Reading score of 600).

A seven-year program provides students with the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree in any discipline on the Stockton campus in four years of study

Then complete the Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the School of Dentistry in San Francisco in three additional years.
