Here I am giving PhD course detail offer by University of Calcutta:

Performance of an M.Phil student shall be evaluated on a continuous basis as prescribed by the M.Phil committee. The total marks allotted to a course, distribution of marks in each course to different components of performance, such as through terms papers, review essays, oral presentation in seminars, viva-voce, etc., shall be spelt out at the beginning of the session by the concerned M.Phil Committee.

The Scheme of examinations shall be as follows :-
Part – I - Examination (i) Course Work (Four papers of two hours each,
each carrying 50 marks) - 200 marks
Part –II (A) Examinations (ii) Internal Assessment
(Based on review essays,
and at least 2 seminars) - 100 marks
Part-II (B) Examinations
(i) Dissertation/Project Work - 150 marks
(ii) Final comprehensive Viva-voce - 50 marks

Total - 500 marks
