| Re: UGC Global Open University
The Global Open University has been legislated by the Nagaland State Legislative Assembly under The Global Open University Act 2006 (Act 3 of 2006) which received the assent of the Governor of Nagaland on 30th August 2006. It is provisionally recognized (2008-2009) as a Private University by University Grants Commission of India (UGC). In 2008, it was recognised provisionally by the Distance Education Council for offering distance programmes the same year. UGC Approval Letter  Courses The university offers short-term online certificate courses apart from its distance education degree courses. These courses are totally online which includes online registration, online study material and also have online examination system. This University also has the courses of laparoscopic surgery conducted at World Laparoscopy Hospital, New Delhi. It also awards distance education degrees in various programmes. The University offers academic degree programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the following areas: Management and Commerce Health and Medical Sciences Ecology and Environment Law and Juridical Science Psychology and Counseling Education Journalism and Mass Communication Computers and Information Technology Library and Information Science Applied Science Social Science Tourism, Travel & Hospitality Management Officers of the University Visitor : His Excellency Shri P.
