Re: UC Berkeley Acceptance Rate

University of California, Berkeley is extremely selective, getting a high SAT score and GPA is vital to having a chance at getting in.

If one don't pass the SAT and GPA requirements, then likely to get rejection without much consideration.

The acceptance rate at UC Berkeley is 18% i.e. of 100 students who apply only 18 are admitted.

The average SAT score composite at UC Berkeley is a 2055. The 25th percentile SAT score is 1870, and the 75th percentile SAT score is 2240.

In other words, 1870 places below average, while a 2240 will move up to above average. There's no absolute SAT requirement, but at least 1870 is required to have a chance at being considered.

Here's the breakdown of scores by section:

Section Average 25th Percentile 75th Percentile

Reading 665 600 730

Math 710 650 770

Writing 680 620 740

Composite 2055 1870 2240

The average GPA at UC Berkeley is 3.86. This makes UC Berkeley Extremely Competitive for GPAs.

To be safe, you should aim for the 75th percentile, with a 2240 SAT and a 3.86 GPA or higher to be above average.
