I want to get admission in MBBS in Sree Siddhartha Medical College (SSMC) so can you tell me the no of seats and the eligibility criteria of admission?

Sree Siddhartha Medical College (SSMC) was started in the year 1988 by Sree Siddhartha Educational Society (SSES).

MBBS Program-

Duration -
4 1/2 academic followed by one-year compulsory Rotation internship.

The first 12 months shall be occupied in the study of the phase I (Pre clinical) Subjects and no student shall be permitted to join the phase –II (Para-clinical).

Group of Subjects until he has passed in all Phase I. Subjects

After passing pre clinical subjects, 3 1/2 years shall be devoted to clinical subjects.

During the first 18 months of this period Para-clinical subjects to be studied collaterally.

Number of seats-

Total number of seats -> 130

Number of candidates admitted through Common Entrance Test (CET) -> 50%

Number of candidates admitted through management quota -> 50%

Eligibility-

Candidate shall have passed the two year P.U.C examination conducted by P.U Board, Karnataka State with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects or any other recognized examination

B.Sc with physics, chemistry and biology or Chemistry, botany and Zoology exam of an Indian university with at least 50% in any of the two subjects studied at the degree level and he has passed the earlier qualifying examination with physics, chemistry, biology and English

The candidate should have to complete 17 years on 31st December

Phases of the course-

Phases Period

Phase I - Pre clinical-Anatomy, Physiology and Bio-chemistry 12 months

Phase II - Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, and Forensic Medicine 18 months

Phase III A - ENT, Ophthalmology Pediatrics, and Community Medicine 12 months

Phase III B - Medicine, Surgery (including Orthopedics) and Obstetrics and Gynecology 12 months
