Can you give me some tips for the preparation of Orissa Civil Services Examination?? also provide me the syllabus of the same………….. Here I am suggesting few tips to crack Orissa Public Service -OAS Exam which you are looking for . Familiarity with the optional syllabi Selection of books Thorough insight of the question papers A specific strategy for the general studies: History: A huge stress is given to modern history and freedom movement. A cursory glance over the medieval history would serve the purpose. Also emphasis is given to Ancient India. General Science: It covers a major chunk, so be well-versed with the topics of general science from a standard guidebook. Geography: A huge stress is to be given to physical geography and maps related questions. Get yourself well-acquainted with maps with the help of a good Atlas. General awareness: Any good guide book or year book will be suited for the purpose. Current affairs: Don't read any new topic. Going daily through a standard news paper thoroughly will suffice. Take a good sleep on the eve of examination Never go through any book on the eve of examination. As you want here I am giving bellow Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) OAS exam preparation tips : Strategy For preparation If possible collect the social science books from 6 to 12th prescribed by HSC,CHSE-Odisha.Along with NCERTS read them. They are good for basic knowledge. Read one English (The Hindu/India Express) and one Odia newspaper (The Samaj most preferably ) to get political and social affairs of India and Odisha as well.
