OAS exam syllabus:

Agriculture, its importance in national economy. Factors determining
agroecological zones and geographic distribution of crop plants. Importance of crop
plants, cultural practices for cereal, pulses, oilseed, fibre, sugar, tuber and fodder crops.
Crop rotation, multiple and relay cropping, intercropping and mixed cropping. Dryfaming
techniques. Organic farming. Soil as a medium of plant growth and its composition,
mineral and organic constituents of the soil and their role in crop production; chemical,
physical and biological properties of soils. Essential plant nutrients - their functions,
occurrence, cycling in soils. Soil fertility and its evaluation for judicious fertilizer use.
Organic manures and bio-fertilizers, inorganic fertilizers, integrated nutrient
management.
Principles of plant physiology - plant nutrition, absorption, translocation and
metabolism

A huge stress is given to modern history and freedom movement.

A cursory glance over the medieval history would serve the purpose.

Also emphasis is given to Ancient India.

General Science: It covers a major chunk, so be well-versed with the topics of general science from a standard guidebook.

Geography:
A huge stress is to be given to physical geography and maps related questions.

Get yourself well-acquainted with maps with the help of a good Atlas.

General awareness: Any good guide book or year book will be suited for the purpose.

Current affairs:

Don't read any new topic.

Going daily through a standard news paper thoroughly will suffice.

Strategy For preparation

If possible collect the social science books from 6 to 12th prescribed by HSC,CHSE-Odisha.Along with NCERTS read them.

They are good for basic knowledge.

Read one English (The Hindu/India Express) and one Odia newspaper (The Samaj most preferably ) to get political and social affairs of India and Odisha as well.

Choose the medium of language for writing gs answer carefully as your comfert level.

Completed the whole syllabus & revised it 3-4 times before the examination. For GS-II, I Practised a lot.
