At Teri University the PHD academic programme is provide a multidisciplinary and practical approach.

In Teri University the Department of Energy and Environment is engaged in research in the broad area of clean technologies to achieve energy efficiency and minimize adverse environmental impacts.

The areas of research include renewable energy, energy conservation, energy engineering and environment engineering including technologies for waste management and process efficiency improvement.

Admissions are open through the year. For PHD applications will be considered until 31 May and 31 October for admissions in the semesters commencing July and January each year.

Admission to the PhD programmes will be made on the basis of a test and interview conducted by the department.

Eligibility criteria:
M.Sc or M.Phil in a relevant field or equivalent

In extremely exceptional cases the admission committee may consider an application from a candidate who possess a B.Tech in a relevant field or equivalent.

Only those who have a minimum CGPA of 8.0 on a 10 point scale or 75% marks should consider applying in this category.
