The Indian Air Force (IAF) the youngest of the three defense services, was commissioned on October 8, 1932, with four single-propeller engine Wapiti aircrafts, six pilot officers, two airmen and 19 Hawai Sepoys. One can join the Air Force as an Officer in either one of the three branches, the Flying, Technical or the Ground branch. The officer cadre provides opportunities for men with 10+2 /Intermediate (only in the flying branch), graduates (all three branches), engineers (all three branches) and postgraduates (all branches accept the Flying branch). Technical Graduates such as B. Tech or B.E can join the IAF family by entering in Aeronautical Engineering Branch. As a Technical officer you will be working on modern and sophisticated equipment. IAF offers two Aeronautical Engineering courses one is for Electronics and another is for Mechanical. General Eligibility Age - 18 to 28 years Nationality - Indian Gender - Men and Women Marital Status - Candidates below the age of 25 years should be unmarried Educational Qualifications for Technical Officer in Indian Air Force 1. Four year degree qualification from a recognized University OR Passed Section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) OR Passed Section A and B examination of Aeronautical Society of India OR Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies |
