The Boston University (BU) Rutgers University (RU) Tuberculosis Research Unit (TBRU) is a collaboration of scientists and clinicians from the US and TB endemic countries dedicated to the elucidation of biomarkers and mechanisms that pose a risk of progression from LTBI to active disease and of treated TB to relapse.

It was established on August 1st, 2014 upon approval for funding by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
