The detail about the Integrated M.Sc-Ph.D Programme offered by Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Bangalore is as follows:

At present TIFR Centre offers admission for Applicable Mathematics admits students for an integrated M.Sc-Ph. D Programme in area of Mathematics.

Outstanding B Sc candidates can take usual graduate courses and earn both M.Sc degree (after satisfying some additional requirements) as well as Ph. D degree from TIFR.

Eligibility:

Candidates possessing Bachelor Degree with Mathematics as one of the main subjects or Engineering graduates with a strong aptitude for Mathematics are eligible to apply.

Students who are in the final year of graduation may also apply.

Admission Procedure:

Admission procedure is consists of written test conducted by TIFR Mumbai at one of the several nationwide centres.

Students who qualify in the written test will be called for interviews and successful students will undergo rigorous course work for two years.

The candidates who complete the two year's course successfully will have an option to continue for Ph. D or exit with an M.Sc Degree.

Fellowship:
The programme officers a scholarship of 16000/- per month for the first three years and a contingency grant of 20000/- per annum for five years

Candidates opting to pursue Ph. D will be eligible for a scholarship of 18000/- per month after third year.
