AFCAT is an Air Force Common Admission Test.
It is a common admission test for selecting candidates in various branches of Indian Air Force.

AFCAT is conducted for the courses like
Flying Branch for men and women,
SSC for men and women,
Ground Duty Officers
Permanent Commission for men etc

Selection is on the basis of written examination, interview, screening and medical test conducted by the IAF.

Syllabus of the AFCAT Entrance Exams
Written exam is consist of four sections

Section 1: Test of General Awareness
History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc

Section 2: Test of English Language
Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary

Section 3: Test of Numerical Ability
Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest

Section 4: Test of Reasoning and Military Aptitude
Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability

Marks Division in AFCAT:
General Awareness: 75 Marks.
Verbal Ability in English: 75 Marks.
Numerical Ability: 75 Marks.
Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test: 75 Marks.

AFCAT EXAM SYLLABUS:

General Awareness:
History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics , Civics, Basic Sciences, Defence, Art etc.

Verbal Ability in English:
Comprehension, Error Detection, Synonyms, Antonyms, and Testing of Vocabulary, Sentence Completion etc.


Numerical Ability:
Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion, and Simple Interest, Profit & Loss


Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test section:
Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability.

Exam Pattern:

The Air Force Common Admission Test will consist of 100 questions and each question will be of three marks. So total marks for all questions will be 300.

The AFCAT paper will consist of four sections:
1. General Awareness

2. Verbal Ability

3. Numerical Ability

4. Reasoning & Military Aptitude Test

There will be Multiply Choice Based Questions of 3 marks each.
The candidates will be penalized in the form of deduction of 1 marks for every wrong answers attempted by them.

The duration of AFCAT Exam will be 2 Hours.
