State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) is one of the scheduled banks in India. It is originated as the central bank of the erstwhile Nizam state under the name, Hyderabad State Bank.

It was established on 8 August 1941 under the Hyderabad State Bank Act, 1941, during the reign of the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan.

In 1956 the RBI took over the bank as its first subsidiary and renamed it State Bank of Hyderabad. The Subsidiary Banks Act was passed in 1959, so on 1 October 1959 it and the other banks of the princely states became subsidiaries of SBI. It is now the largest Associate Bank of State Bank of India.


Short-Term FD Rates
For fixed deposits made for durations of 7 days to 45 days the Bank offers an annual interest rate of 7.25% which increases by .50% for deposits made for tenures of 46 days to 90 days bringing the total interest rate to 6.50% per annum.
It is .25% for deposit from 91 days to 179 days at 6.75%
Deposits made for 180 days to 1 year enjoy an interest rate which is 0.75% higher at 7.25% per annum.

Medium and Long-Term FD Rates
Deposits that are held with the Bank for 1 year to just less than 3 years are eligible for an attractive interest rates of 7.5% while deposits that are held for 3 years to 5 years attract the same interest rate which is 7.25% per annum.

Senior Citizen FD Rates
Bank also offers its customers senior citizen fixed deposit accounts where the depositor gets an extra 0.3% interest per annum for all deposits made for more than 1 year.
This means that the lowest interest offered to them is 6.3% per annum and the highest is 8.05% per annum.
This facility is also subject to other condition laid down by the bank.
