Re: Stanford University MS Computer Science Fees
The M.S. degree in Computer Science Program offered by Stanford School of Engineering of Stanford University is intended as a terminal professional degree and does not lead to the Ph.D. degree. Most part-time students take an average of 3 to 5 years to complete the 45-unit requirement. One must complete a Master's degree within 5 years of starting the program. While the majority of the degree can be completed online, it depends on one’s program plan, area of focus, and the course offerings for any given academic quarter. Tuition Tuition for each course is $1,352 per unit. Each course ranges from 3-5 units. You must earn 45 units of credit within five years of your start date to be awarded a Master’s degree. Additional required fees $125 One-Time Transcript/Document Fee provides lifetime access to your course transcripts (not applicable if you already paid this fee for a credit-bearing graduate course prior to starting your degree program) $44 Associated Students of Stanford University (ASSU) Fee, assessed each autumn, winter, or spring quarter you are enrolled. Application Requirements All application deadlines are final. Applications will not be accepted after the deadline. One must review the University's Graduate Admissions website before applying on-line. Then, carefully follow the directions as the first step for completing an application to the Computer Science Department. Keep one’s e-mail address current by notifying CS Graduate Admissions. All correspondence regarding application and notification of all admissions decisions are done via one’s e-mail. Make sure one’s first and last names remain consistent throughout the application process, on TOEFL and GRE tests, and in correspondence with the department. Because of the large volume of applications received, submit application early to avoid any delays in processing. Admission to the Computer Science Department is very competitive. Each year approximately 3,000 applications are received for the graduate programs. It is recommended that all parts of the application be strong as many outstanding applications are received. In order to ensure a complete and competitive application, careful preparation and attention is required. Take GRE and TOEFL tests early. One must ensure that the scores arrive at Stanford by deadline. Be sure to self-report all available scores on application and have ETS send official scores to Stanford immediately Contact Detail: Stanford School of Engineering Stanford University Gates Computer Science Building 353 Jane Stanford Way Stanford, CA 94305 Phone: (650) 723-2300 Admissions: admissions@cs.stanford.edu |
