Hey as After successfully clearing Tier 1 and Tier 2, the next step towards your dream job is to clear Computer Proficiency Test/ Skill Test. SSC conducts Computer Proficiency Test /Skill Test for the candidates who have applied for the post of Tax Assistants in Central Excise & Income Tax Department and Assistants in Central Secretariat Service (CSS).

Duration

Duration of the test is usually 15 minutes. in this allocated time you need to accomplish the task of 2000 key depressions on compute

Important things to be kept in mind
Candidates will be required to report at your venue one hour prior to the exam or at the reporting time if mentioned in your admit card.
Commission may ask you to bring relevant attested photocopies of your credentials with you on your examination day. Keep your documents photocopied and get them attested by a Gazetted Officer.
Candidates can also keep two extra photographs with you to be on the safe side.

Test pattern
Test in Word Processing on Microsoft Word (Data Entry Speed Test/DEST)- This test is for the candidates applying for the post of Tax Assistants in Central Excise & Income Tax. This is the only test they need to appear for. in this test you will be required to type a passage which would have 2000 alphabets approximately in 15 minutes.

So basically you need to do 2000 key depressions in 15 minutes.
Test in Spread Sheets on Microsoft Excel
Test in Generation of Slides on Microsoft Power Point
Candidates who have applied for Assistants in CSS will have to give all the three test. Both test 2 & 3 will be of 15 minutes. Such candidates will have to clear DEST first, only candidates who successfully clear DEST will be called for Test 2 & 3.
