Can you tell me in details regarding admission process in Ph D course offered by SRM University as my Brother wants to take admission in it?

The Research activities of the SRM University were accelerating from the year 2003 onwards. Extensive research facilities were created to promote innovative research.

Each department has its own laboratories and facilities, equipped to handle high-end research. The Research activities in the University include Academic research and funded research projects in the Faculties of Engineering & Technology, Medical & Health Sciences and Science & Humanities

Procedure for PhD Admissions
The application must be accompanied with a

• (I) 2 to 3 page write-up about the proposed research work clearly indicating the problem to be studied, current research going on around the world in that area, gaps identified in the current research works, scope of your proposed work, references etc. This write-up is very critical for impressing on the department / university to accept you as a research scholar.
• (II) Power Point Presentation (PPT) not exceeding 15 slides, on the proposed research work outlining the points mentioned in (I) above
• The write-up and the PPT will be assessed by the Research Coordination Committee (RCC) of the concerned department. The RCC, if necessary, can call for a video/tele conference to assess the candidate's suitability in terms of technical knowledge, communication skills etc. The RCC will identify a supervisor to guide the candidate on his / her research work and based on its recommendation, the Office of International Relations (OIR) will arrange to issue (by email) the Provisional Admission Letter, which is NOT valid for Visa purpose.
• The tuition and other applicable fees mentioned in the Provisional Admission Letter have to be transferred to SRM account within 10 days from the date of Provisional Admission Letter.
• On receipt of credit advice from our bankers, OIR will arrange to issue the Confirmed Admission Letter which is valid for visa purpose.
• On arrival to SRM University the candidate must report to the concerned Head of the Department for further instructions.
• The candidate has to appear before the Doctoral Committee (DC) which will be constituted by the university from a panel of experts suggested by the supervisor, within a month of the candidate reporting to the department.
• Based on your presentation before the DC, it will recommend appropriate course work to be undertaken.
• Last Date for applying : 30th September for January admissions
