Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) is a state university in Tirupati which is founded in 1954 by chief minister Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu. It is affiliated to UGC and it holds a NAAC rating of "A+" with a score of 3.52 out of 4.

It was ranked 801-1000 in the world by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings of 2018 and 201-250 in Asia. The QS World University Rankings of 2018 ranked it 223 in Asia. It was ranked 74 overall in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2018, 49 among universities and 71 in the engineering ranking.
