Sorry to say you but the Sikkim Manipal University is not a Deemed University. The Sikkim Manipal University is a private University.

The Sikkim Manipal University is a funded, co-educational, public-private university in Gangtok, Sikkim, India.

The SMU was established in 1995.

SMU is recognized by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 vide letter No F. 9-7/96(CPP-I) dated 9 Dec 1998, and approved by the Government of India.

At SMU all its courses have been approved by regulatory bodies like the Medical Council of India (MCI), Nursing Council of India, Indian Association of Physiotherapy, and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the Distance Education Council.
