The Sikkim Manipal University is located in Gangtok and established in accordance with the Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences Act, 1995 (Act No. 9 of 1995) of the Government of Sikkim.

The First Installment of the course fees, registration fees, caution deposit, hostel fees and 'Mess & Utility Advance' should be paid by 'Account Payee Demand Draft' drawn in favour of Sikkim Manipal University payable at Gangtok at the time of admission.
