Seat Category for the courses:

The South Indian Education Society which has been accorded the South Indian Linguistic Minority position as per the requirements in the Constitution. Seats are available in the following categories:

A. South Indian Linguistic Minority (51% of sanctioned intake)


Admissions under the linguistic minority category will be complete at the institute level is merit based, on the constructive composite score and as per the guidelines laid down by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai. Applicants eligible for admission to the First Year Engineering under this group should assure the general eligibility conditions and should have tamil as their mother tongue. Further they should be domiciled citizens of Maharashtra.

They should submit:
An official declaration on stamp paper (Rs. 100/-) to the effect that they are residents of Maharashtra and that their mother tongue is Tamil.
Domicile credential (if domicile certificate is not available, they should produce birth /school leaving certificate of the candidate clearly indicating that their placed of birth is Maharashtra).

If the Minority seats with Tamil minority are not packed, then GR dated 18.6.2014 will be followed for filling up the minority places. Accordingly minority places will be filled in the following order of preference
Tamil linguistic Minority
Any other linguistic minority as notified by the Govt. of Maharashtra.
Religious minority as notified by the Govt. of Maharashtra.

B. CAP/All India (29 % of sanctioned intake)

The open group seats will be filled by the eligible applicants who satisfy the general eligibility circumstances and are from the State of Maharashtra.
Applicants under the All India Quota should assure the general eligibility conditions and have obtained a positive composite score.
Applicants under the J & K migrant quota should satisfy the general eligibility conditions for admission. The applicant belonging to this type is required to appear for the JEE Main 2015.
The CAP shall be conducted by the DTE and eligible applicants are advised to track the online CAP admission procedure.

C. Institute Level (20 % of sanctioned intake)

The SIES GST do not charge any capitation fee for entrance to any of its programs. All the admissions in the institute level (management) quota shall be done in a reasonable and transparent method and purely based on merit. Applicants without domicile status in Maharashtra and all other (except Tamil minority) applicants with a positive composite score are eligible to apply under this category. Reservation may be made appropriate for wards of SIES staff under this category.
