Shipping Corporation Of India was established in the year 1961. It is a Government of India Public Sector Enterprise with its headquarters centered in Mumbai .

SCI’s CSR initiatives target specific areas are given below :

• Education

• Imparting Vocational Training

• Skill Development

• Scholarship to meritorious students belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories.

• Health and Family Welfare

• Sanitation and Public Health

• Relief to Victims of Natural Calamities

• Promotion of Art and Culture

CSR, SCI has signed a MOU with Tata Institute of Social Sciences Mumbai, for preparation, monitoring, and evaluation of CSR initiatives of SCI.

Mission

• Supporting efforts for community health in slums and areas inhabited by weaker sections .

• Providing financial and other assistance to students who belong to socially weaker sections

• Promoting, encouraging and supporting the social and cultural heritage and traditions of our society

• Supporting the programmes and efforts for environment protection and enhancement

• Taking proactive measures for the well-being of society, as per needs.
