The Sophisticated Analytical Instruments Facility (SAIF) was established by Department of Science and Technology (DST) to provide data collection facility from sophisticated analytical equipments to scientific community for their advanced research with nominal charges.

The instruments available at the SAIFs include SEM, TEM, EPMA, Mass, ICP, NMR, EPR Spectrometers, XRD, Thermal Analysis Systems, Gel Permeation Chromatograph, Mercury Porosimeter and accessories such as Graphite Furnace and Hydride Generator.

The process to get the Request Form for permission to visit facilities in SAIF or Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility, IIT Chennai is as follows:
