Rural Development Ngo can be defined as legally constituted corporations created by natural or legal people that operate independently from any form of government.

NGOs are more flexible all NGO are in India specific to a particular locality and moreover these are committed towards serving the public and community as a whole.

As the task of development is massive, many NGOs are playing vital role in the rural development of India in collaboration with the government. NGOs were working in close connection with local people so bringing such a change was not a tough task for them.

CSO: “Civil Society Organization”

SCO: “Social Change NGO”

GSO: “Grassroots Support Organization”

NNGO: “Northern NGO”

NGDO: “Non-governmental Development Organization”

PANGO: Party NGO i.e. NGO set up by parties and used as a front for political matters.

TNGO: “Transnational NGO”

QUANGO: “Quasi-Autonomous NGO”

TSO: “Third Sector Organization”

ENGO: “Environmental NGO”,such as Greenpeace and WWF

TANGO: “Technical Assistance NGO”

GONGO: “Government Operated NGOs”

BINGO: “ Business-friendly International NGO”

SNGO: “Southern NGO”

DONGO: “Donor Organized NGO”

MANGO: “Market Advocacy Organization”

INGO: “International NGO”

National NGO: “ A non-governmental NGO that exists only in one country”
