The Association of Indian universities is a registered community under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 with the membership of Indian Universities. It offers a forum for administrators and academicians of member universities to exchange views and discuss matters of common concern. The association work as a bureau of information exchange in higher education and brings out a number of useful publications. The major role of the association is to gather and exchange the information of the universities and make solution of the education related problems of the universities.
