Requirements to sit for RD Exam

The eligibility requirements for Registration Examination from 1st January 2016 conducted by Indian Dietetic Association are as follows:

Six months Life Membership of Indian Dietetic Association (IDA) by the August 31st of that year

Post Graduate Diploma in Nutrition & Dietetics / Masters in Nutrition & Dietetics/ Masters in Food and Nutrition.

3 plus 1 year format; where one must have done a minimum of 4 years in Home Science or Foods, Nutrition & Dietetics.

Internship
6 months internship in a multi-specialty hospital with a minimum of 100, in the hospitals recognized by R.D. Board and supervised by a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) with a minimum of 2 years experience or a senior dietitian with at least 10 years experience

6 months internship in a Super-specialty hospital with a minimum of 100 beds in the hospitals recognized by R. D. Board and supervised by a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) with a minimum of 2 yrs experience or a senior dietitian with at least 10 years experience

3 months internship without any break in a Super-specialty hospital with a minimum of 100 beds in the hospitals recognized by R.D. Board and supervised by a Registered Dietitian (R. D.) with minimum 2 yrs of experience or a senior dietitian with at least 10 years experience

AND

3 months of internship in a multi specialty hospital with the criteria as mentioned above. The internship can be done continuously or in two installments (3+3) months with a break of not more than six weeks.

The internship should be completed on or before August 31st of the year of applying for the R. D. exam

Two years of experience as a full time dietitian in a multi-specialty / Super Specialty hospital with a minimum of 100 beds.
