CID Criminal Investigation Department is a crime detection agency under the Government of India. To join the Crime Investigation Department, you must appear in the Indian Civil Services examination that is held by the Union Public Service Commission.

Eligible to apply for CID officer:
You have to passed graduation level degree course in any discipline from a well recognized university .

Age Limit --
Minimum age limit is 21 years and maximum 27 years
Age relaxation is available as per UPSC govt.

Detective constable ( DC or Det Con )
Detective Sergent ( Ds or Det Sgt )
Detective Inspector ( DI or Det Insp )
Detective Chief Inspector ( DCI 0r Det Ch Insp )

Physical Requirements:
a. Height
i. For men -165cms.
ii. For women -150cms
Height relax able for Hillsmen and Tribals: 5cms

b. Chest:
76cms. with expansion (There shall be no such requirement in case of female candidates)

c. Vision:
Eye-Sight (with or without glasses)
Distant Vision :6/6 in one and 6/9 in other eye.
NearVision:0.6 in one eye and 0.8 in other eye

The Selection based on Written Test, Personal Interview.
A. Part I - Written Examination carrying: 400 marks

b. Part II - Personality Test (Interview): 100 marks.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have completed Bachelor of any stream.

2. Age Limit:
Candidate must have attained the age of 20 years on 1st July of the year of examination and must not have attained 27 years of age on that date.

Upper age limit will be relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

3. Physical Requirements:
