Indian Army was founded in 15 August 1947 in India.





The Indian Army is the land-based stem and the biggest part of the Indian Armed Forces.

The President of India serves as the de Jure Commander-in-Chief of the army while the de facto management lies with Minister of Defence, and it is controlled by the Chief of Army Staff, who is a four-star general.

2 officers have been award the rank of Field marshal, a Five-star rank, which is a ritual place of great honour. The Indian Army created from the armies of the East India Company, which finally became the British Indian Army and finally the national army after independence.

Ranks of the Indian army generally correspond with those of Western militaries, and in particular reflect those of the British and Commonwealth armies.

Commissioned officers are the leaders of the army and command units anywhere from company to army size.
