The University of the Punjab was formally established with the convening of its first meeting of its senate on October 14, 1882 at Shimla. It was the fourth University to be established by the British Colonial Authorities on the Indian Subcontinent.

Eligibility
• Minimum Matriculation or equivalent qualification for Serial No. 1
• Minimum Intermediate or equivalent qualification for Serial No. 2 to Serial No. 7 and Serial No.11 and Serial No.12.
• Minimum Intermediate or equivalent qualification and one should have taken at least one programming course for Serial No. 8 to Serial No.10

Admissions
• Admission will be open in January, April, August and November
• Admission Forms are available from Admission Office from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. except Saturdays and Sundays. Rs.500/- per course will be charged as registration fee.
