Below I am providing you with the procedure to apply for UGC NET exam which is conducted by University Grants Commission for awarding junior research fellowships and for recruitment of lecturers in prestigious universities.

1. Go to official website of UGC.
2. Below UGC logo you will find ‘Notification for NET’, click on it and then click on apply online.
3. Keep your signature and photo scanned copies ready.
4. After filling form computer will generate a Bank challan. Deposit that challan with fee 2 days after in any of the branches of SBI.
5. Then send hard copy of form, payment receipt to UGC.
6. Don’t submit fee through DD, Money order. Fee deposited by any other mode will be straight away dismissed.

EXAM FEE

General Candidates- Rs.450/-
Other Backward Class candidates- Rs.225/-
SC/ST/PWD candidates- Rs.110/-

Age limit:

1. For JRF- Maximum age is 28 years(5 years of relaxation for OBC, SC, ST categories)
2. For Asst. Professor- No upper age limit.

Other eligibility criteria:

1. Should have Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks from a university recognised by UGC(Relaxation of 5% for reserved categories).

Enclosures:

1. Copy of form and payment receipt
2. Attested copy of category certificate
3. Certificate of research experience, if any.

University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is directed by UGC CBSE twice in a year for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the:

Award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) and/or

Eligibility for Lectureship in Indian universities and colleges.

Eligibility Conditions :

Lectureship:
There is no upper age limit for applying for lectureship eligibility.

Junior Research Fellowship:
The age limit for JRF is 28 years of age.

Candidates have completed Masters Degree from a recognised Universities with 55% marks in Arts, Computer Science & Applications, Social Sciences, Electronic Science etc.
