The Kaplan Nursing School Admissions Test is a pre-admission process that predicts a students nursing school success. It determines student aptitude is essential. Designed for students with a high-school education (or equivalent), one is not required to have taken any previous nursing course to be successful on the admissions test. Admissions Test Components: - 4 sections covering reading, writing, basic math, science, and critical thinking - 91 questions: Reading section: 22 questions, 45 minutes. Math section: 28 questions, 45 minutes. Writing section: 21 questions, 45 minutes. Science section: 20 questions, 30 minutes - Nationally normed - Instantaneous results - Test results provide six reports and scores for reading, writing, math, science, critical thinking and cumulative scoring - Easy to schedule and use Test results provide scores for: 1. Reading Comprehension 2. Writing 3. Math 4. Science 5. Critical Thinking The reading section contains 22 questions to be answered in 45 minutes. Candidates read four passages and answer questions that measure the essential skills required for reading: - Determining the logic of a passage - Comprehending details - Drawing basic inferences - Identifying the purpose of a passage The math section contains 28 questions to be answered in 45 minutes. The test measures ability to apply mathematical principles in the following areas: - Conversions - Operations - Ratios - Word problems The writing section contains 21 questions to be answered in 45 minutes. One read nine passages and answers questions that measure the essential skills required for writing: - Assessing passage development - Assessing paragraph logic - Assessing mechanics of writing The science section contains 20 questions to be answered in 30 minutes.
