Ph.D from Sikkim Manipal University

Can you tell me the process of taking admission in Ph.D course with Sikkim Manipal University after passing M.Com MBA and CA?

Sikkim Manipal University offers PhD. Programme in Medical, Engineering, IT, Management and Science streams. The course duration is 2-5 years for Full Time and 3-8 years for Part Time Students.

Eligibility for Registration for Ph.D

A candidate needs to have Master degree of this University or its equivalent of another recognized university or Institute with at least 55% marks.

If candidates hold a degree from foreign universities then registration for the Ph.D. will be confirmed after determination of equivalence by the relevant University body.

Candidate with B.Tech./B.E./ B.Arch./MBBS degree with first class and experience in relevant field can be considered for registration on the special recommendation of the University Research Committee. These candidates are required to complete higher number of credits (24 to 36 credits) as course work compared to 8 to 12 credits for those with postgraduate qualifications.

Candidates need to be recommended by the University Research Committee and Dept/Institute Research Protocol Evaluation Committee (RPEC) which is based on presentation of Research Protocol.

Foreign students are required to produce permission from the Government of India/relevant authorities, for being considered eligible and who have obtained and are holding research visa.

All candidates except those who have passed UGC/CSIR(JRF)/GATE/SLET Exam score card / M. Phil qualified need to appear for the Ph.D. Entrance Exam conducted by the University.

Registration will be confirmed for those candidates who clear the exam with at least 50% marks and those who have passed UGC/CSIR(JRF)/GATE/SLET exam score card/ M.Phil qualified.

Admission Procedure
Research Programme is controlled by the Vice Chancellor through the following committees:

(a) University Research Committee.
(b) Research Protocol Evaluation Committee (RPEC) at each Department/Constituent College.
(c) A Research Progress Committee (RPC) for each research candidate.
(d) A Board for Examination for Ph.D. (Defense Committee) for each candidate.

Admission to Ph.D. Programme is confirmed after the candidate passing the University Ph.D. Entrance Exam or on submitting a valid UGC/CSIR(JRF)/GATE/SLET Exam score card/ M.Phil qualified. The University conducts Ph.D. Entrance Exam 2 times in a year.

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission drug inspector exam date: May 2015.
