Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) was established by GERMI as a Private University through the State Act, Act of the Gujarat Legislature of the Gujarat Legislature enacted on 4th April, 2007. It has been named after Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya who was an eminent political personality and a profound philosopher. Dr. Mukesh Ambani is the President of PDPU.
