The Overseas Manpower Corporation Limited (OMC) was incorporated in the year 1978. The principal objective being promoting employment of Indian manpower in foreign countries.

OMC has widened its capacity since its inception to :

Function as recruiting representative of Indian manpower for Employment abroad.
Promote and set up joint industrial ventures aborad-on its own or on behalf of the Government.
Raise essential financial resources from Indians abroad for projects in India
Promote and takes steps to make stronger exports of traditional and non-traditional items.
Sell tickets, on behalf of any or all foreign organizations offering air travels and transport service.
Offer Accident and Health Insurance coverage to Non-Resident Tamils.
Offer foreign exchange for persons recruited abroad for employment and for persons for traveling abroad.
