It was established in the year 1918.

Law department of Osmania university was established in the year 1923.

The University College of Law was established in 1960.

Currently the sanctioned strength in LL.B. is 120 seats, 60 seats for 3 year
LL.B course and 60 seats for 5 year LL.B course.

The Faculty of Law introduced the Ph.D. Programme and first batch of Ph.D.
students was registered in the year 1978.

The Ph.D. Programme is offered on regular and part-time basis. Total no. of
scholars admitted into Ph.D are 116 till date and awarded Ph.Ds for 83
scholars.
