Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) is a multinational oil and gas company headquartered in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. It is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) of the Government of India. ONGC was established on 14 August 1956.
It is India's largest oil and gas exploration and production company.

The grand inauguration of ONGC office at Bhubaneswar was held on May 10,2015 by the Honourable Minister of State (Independent Charge), MoP&NG, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.

ONGC is making a new beginning in field of exploration of energy resources in the new frontiers of a resurgent State of Odisha.

Odisha has significant hydrocarbon resources, especially gas reserves in the offshore area. ONGC is soon going to do onshore 2D seismic survey which will establish the potential of resources in mainland Odisha.

Adding another chapter to its glorious journey, the energy major takes new steps into the state of Odisha – the land endowed with natural resources and rich cultural heritage.

ONGC, has been engaged in exploration in Mahanadi offshore area – both shallow and deep water area in the coast of the State of Odisha since the inception of New Exploration Licensing Policy NELP regime in 1999.
