National Thermal Power Corporation is one of the most important corporations of thermal power. NTPC is coal-based power plants of Talcher Super Thermal Power Station at Kaniha orissa.

NTPC Talcher Kaniha is located in Talcher sub-division of Angul district in the Indian state of Odisha.

The coal for the power plant is sourced from Talcher Coal Field Lingraj Block. Source of water for the power plant is from Samal Barrage Reservoir on Brahmani River.
