As on today 15th Nov 2014, NTPC published notification for Engineering Executive Trainees, here are details:

Position:
Engineering Executive Trainees in the following disciplines

1. Electrical
2. Mechanical
3. Instrumentation
4. Electronics Engineering

Qualification:
Candidates should possess Graduation in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Instrumentation/ Electronics Engineering.

Selection Process:
Selection will be made on the basis of personal interview & group discussion.

Important Dates:
Starting Date to Apply Online for GATE 2015: 01-09-2014
Last Date to Apply Online for GATE 2015: 14-10-2014
Starting Date to Apply Online for NTPC: 20-12-2014
Last Date to Apply Online for NTPC: 19-01-2015.
