I was part of the National Service Scheme in my school and I want to continue in my college also. is there any National Service Scheme available at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur? Tell me contact number of NSS Advisory Committee at IIT Kgp with me?

I recently took admission in Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT KGP) and from here doing engineering degree came to know about NSS. Will you please provide me basic details about NSS IIT KGP program so I can plan to join also provide contacts for doing enquiry?

National Service Scheme (NSS) is a voluntary organisation launched in Gandhijis birth centenary year, 1969.

The program aims to promote personality development by means of participation in community service. Starting from a handful of 37 universities, today it has got more than 3.2 million student volunteers from all over the country.

In IIT-KGP, NSS has been made a part of core academic curriculum for more than one-third of first and second year undergraduate students.

The programme comprises of weekly field work and a minimum of one annual camp.
