Can you tell me if a non GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) qualified apply for M Tech admission in National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur?

One can apply for M Tech admission in National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur through 2 modes:

GATE-qualified candidates with stipend:

Admission for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) -qualified candidates is made through centralized e-counselling, CCMT.

Part-time, sponsored and self-sponsored candidates (without stipend):

Admission is made through admission test and viva voce conducted by different departments in NIT Durgapur.


Eligibility Criteria

In qualifying degree one should have passed and secured at least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% for OC/OB, whereas 6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 55% in case of SC/ST/PwD candidates

The above mentioned CGPA/Percentage should be awarded by a recognized University/Institute

Conversion from CGPA to percentage or vice versa given by individual Institute will not be considered/ allowed. One will have to mention CGPA/Percentage as awarded by their University/Institute

If the results of the last qualifying exam are not published yet, the qualifying marks are applicable till the last semester

If, result of qualifying degree is awaited, provisional admission is permitted to a student subject to meeting above minimum qualifying degree requirements
