DEFINITIONS
Academic Student An individual aspiring for a career in Information Technology and has enrolled for a Career Program. Academic Unit The basic unit into which a student shall be registered for during the course of the program enrolled. This could be a Quarter, Semester or multiples of Quarters as constituted in the Program.

Academic Year
The period commencing from 1st October of a year to 30th September of the following year.
Admission The process of enrolling for a program at any International NIIT education location. Admission is confirmed only after the student pays the requisite fees as prescribed by the education location. Appraisal Every Quarter of the Academic Unit will be evaluated. This evaluation is referred to as Appraisal. Appraisals in a Quarter consist of ISAS, Project and Quarter Examination. Awards On successful completion of a career program of greater than or equal to 2 years of duration, the student is eligible for a NIIT Suffix Award - DNIIT, PNIIT or GNIIT
