National Institute of Design (NID) is the reputed institution of Design that offers UG and PG design courses in its campuses. Admission into the courses is done through NID Entrance Exam called as Design Aptitude Test (DAT) followed by Studio Test and Personal Interview conducted and organized by NID itself.

The B. Des programme is offered at Ahmedabad campus, M. Des programme is offered at Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Gandhinagar campuses and GDPD is offered at NID Vijayawada and NID Kurukshetra.

NID Exam Pattern

Parts: DAT Prelims will be conducted in two parts. DAT Mains for M.Des will consist of two parts: studio test and interviews.
Exam Mode: It is a pen and paper-based test.
Type of Questions: The part-1 will include the multiple choice questions while part-2 is of subjective type.
Total points: There will be total 100 points each for DAT prelims and DAT mains.
Exam Duration: The time assigned to answer the DAT prelims question paper is 3 hours.
Language: The question paper language will be English only.
Negative Marking: There is no negative marking.
