Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) invited online applications for the post of Civil Judge Posts through H.P. Judicial Service Competitive Examination 2019.

Display of names of candidates whose applications have been accepted 05 Aug 2019
Preliminary Examination 08 Sep 2019

Educational Qualification and Experience:
One must be a holder of degree in Law as recognized by the Bar Council of India
One must be a citizen of India.


Age Limit:
22 to 35 Years
The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for SC category candidates of Himachal Pradesh.
For the candidates of reserved categories (except SC category), no relaxation in age limit except fee will be admissible.


Application Fee:
General - Rs 400/-
Other - Rs. 100/-

Exam Pattern

The exam is conducted in two stages first one is preliminary exam and the main exam.
After the main exam the personality test rounds will be conducted.

Preliminary Examination

Number of Papers:

The total number of papers in preliminary exam is three and all the three papers will be conducted on a single day.

Name of the Papers:
The three papers are named as following.
Civil Law - 1
Civil Law- 2
Criminal Law

Duration:
The duration of each paper will be of one hour each.

Nature of Exam:
The exam will be of objective type consisting of three papers of 100 marks each.


Main (Narrative) Examination

Number of Papers:

The number of papers in main exam will be 5. The date sheet will be made available by the Commission on the website.

Name of the Papers:
The five papers are named as following.
Civil Law - 1
Civil Law - 2
Criminal Law
English Composition
Language (Hindi)

Duration:
The duration of each paper will be of three hour each.

Nature of Exam:
The exam will be narrative in nature.
The papers of Civil Law - 1, Civil Law - 2 and Criminal Law consist of 200 marks each whereas English Composition and Language (Hindi) consists of 150 and 100 marks respectively.


Personality Test

One who qualifies the main exam will be called for the personality test.
The maximum marks for the personality test will be 150.

A Choice from three Essays on General Subjects
ESSAY: 100 Marks
Translation of Hindi Passage into English: 50 Marks

Language (Hindi)
Hindi (in Devanagri Script) The paper of Hindi will comprise of the following:-
Translation of English passage into Hindi.-30 Marks
Essay in Hindi on any topic out of three -50 Marks
Composition (Idioms and Corrections etc)-20 Marks
