Re: SBI Clerk For IBPS PO

SBI Clerk is one of the most preferred career options for candidates who are trying to get into a government job.

PO stands for “Probationary officer” in the banks and is the higher grade than a clerk. A P.O. starts as a trainee officer in the Junior Management Grade Service (JMGS) of the bank.

Educational Qualifications

The qualification for the Assistant’s position, the lowest rung in mainline banking operations, is a degree (graduation) from a recognized university.

Pay Scale:

The pay scale or salary perks of SBI Clerk 2016 is illustrated in the table below:

Basic Pay 7,200
Dearness Allowance at 102.45% 8,784
House Rent Allowance: 10% 800
Transport Allowance 225
Total Rs. 17,000 – 20,000

Apart from Basic Pay, as a clerk in PSBs you will get the following allowances:

(a) Dearness Allowance (DA): DA is revised on quarterly basis (i.e. in the months of February, May, August and November) based on the CPI as declared by Government of India. The current DA has been fixed at 39.40% of the Basic Pay). When inflation is high, DA goes up and vice versa.

(b) Special Allowance : This has been added in 10th BPS (wef 01/11/2012) for clerks it 7.75% on which DA is also payable

(c) HRA : This depends on the place of posting and it can be either 10% or 9% or 7.5% depending on the place of posting.

Thus, the initial Basic Pay of a clerk will be Rs.18,100 – 19,800 including allowances.
