The jurisdiction of the University extends to the entire State of Assam with regard to teaching, research and extension education in the field of agriculture and allied sciences. Degree Offered: Ph.D. in Biotechnology Intake capacity: 10 Eligibility: Students having passed M.Sc. (Agri) or Masters Degree in any field of Life Science Students not having passed M.Sc. (Agri) in Biotechnology may need to attend deficiency/bridge courses. Scholarship/Fellowship: The students registered for PhD degree of the department are eligible to receive Scholarships/Fellowship offered by the DBT-AAU Center. The students may also apply for Junior Research Fellow positions in the various research projects running in the department subject to agreement of the students' advisory committee.
