As you are asking for SSC Deputy Field Officer exam syllabus so on your demand I am providing same :

Pattern and Syllabus
The written test will consist of Mainly four papers i.e. General Awareness with current affairs, English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. Total marks of exam will be of 200 Marks with 50 marks in each of the subjects in prelims. Mains exam consist of 3 Hours duration with Maximum 300 marks.

(a) General Awareness General topics including current affairs from areas like sports, latest happening, Geography etc.

(b) English General English paper as like other SSC exam covering Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Comprehension, Synonyms,Antonyms ,Vocabulary etc

(c) Quantitative Aptitude All the topics covering R S Aggarwal or M Tyra

(d) Reasoning General reasoning Papers.

As you want I am here providing you syllabus of the SSC Deputy Field Officers exam.

Syllabus : Paper I – ( Objective Type )[/B]

Part A : General English Questions in this component will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of General English and will be based on error recognition, fill in the blanks ( using verbs, preposition, articles etc ), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, etc. There will be a question on passages and comprehension of passages also. The standard of the questions will be only of 10+2 level.


Part B : General Knowledge / General Awareness : Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s General Awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person.

The test will also include questions pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Sports, Literature, Scientific Research, Basics / fundamentals of Computer, etc. These questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.



Paper – II – ( Conventional Type ) :

The standard of the questions will be only of Degree / Diploma level.

1. Mechanics

Galilean invariance and Newton’s laws of motion, dynamics of a system of particles, conservation of momentum and energy, work energy theorem. Conservation of angular momentum torque, motion of a particle in central force field. Kepler’s laws, satellite in circular orbit and applications ( synchronous satellite, GPS, apparent weightlessness ).

2. Special Theory of Relativity

Constancy of speed of light, postulates of special theory of relativity, length contraction, time dilation, relativistic velocity addition, mass – energy, momentum relations.

3. Electromagnetic Fields

Electric field, Gauss’s theorem – applications, electromagnetic induction, Maxwell Equations, electric and magnetic field vectors, poynting vector.

4. Waves and Oscillations

SHM, damped and driven harmonic oscillator, coupled oscillator, energy relation and energy transfer, normal modes, wave equation, travelling waves, superposition principle, pulses, Doppler effect.

5. Optics

Interference, Young’s double slit expt., diffraction, Polarization, double refraction, lasercharacteristics and applications, optical fiber Resolution.

6. Statistical Mechanics

Phase space, micro and macro states, thermodynamic probability, entropy, M.B. distribution, connection to thermodynamics, Femi – Dirac and B.E. statistics.

7. Semiconductor Physics

PN junction, transistor, amplifier, oscillator, fundamentals of digital electronics – logic gates

8. Modern Physics

Photoelectric effect, compton effect, wave particle duality, de – Broglie hypothesis, Heisenberg uncertainity principle. Basics of Quantum mechanics particle in a box.

Nuclear binding energy, nuclear fission and fusion, fusion reactor.

1. Algebra : Elements of Set Theory; Algebra of Real and Complex numbers including Demovire’s theorem; Polynomials and Polynomial equations, relation between Coefficients and Roots, symmetric functions of roots; Elements of Group Theory; Sub – Group, Cyclic groups, Permutation, Groups and their elementary properties. Rings, Integral Domains and Fields and their elementary properties.

2. Vector Spaces and Matrices : Vector Space, Linear Dependence and Independence. Sub – spaces. Basis and Dimensions, Finite Dimensional Vector Spaces, Linear Transformation of a Finite Dimensional Vector Space, Matrix Representation, Singular and Nonsingular Transformations, Rank and Nullity.

Matrices : Addition, Multiplication, Determinants of a Matrix, Properties of Determinants of order, Inverse of a Matrix, Cramer’s rule.

3. Geometry and Vectors : Analytic Geometry of straight lines and conics in Cartesian and Polar coordinates; Three Dimensional geometry for planes, straight lines, sphere, cone and cylinder. Addition, Subtraction and Products of Vectors and Simple applications to Geometry.

4. Calculus : Functions, Sequences, Series, Limits, Continuity, Derivatives.

Application of Derivatives : Rates of change, Tangents, Normals, Maxima, Minima, Rolle’s Theorem, Mean Value Theorems of Lagrange and Cauchy, Asymptotes, Curvature, Methods of finding indefinite integrals, Definite Integrals, Fundamental Theorem of Integrals Calculus. Application of definite integrals to area, Length of a plane curve, Volume and Surfaces of revolution.

5. Ordinary Differential Equations : Order and Degree of a Differential Equation, First order differential Equations, Singular solution, Geometrical interpretation, Second order equations with constant coefficients.

The SSC (Staff selection Commission) conducts the Cabinet Secretariat Jobs (Deputy Field Officer(TELE) exam. The Examination will be conducted in Three Tier Prelims, Mains and Interview.
