Neelu Bhasin | Re: UP IAS Exam Date Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil services examination for various positions like Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Administrative Service (IAS), etc. The IAS is the administrative arm of the All India Services. They serve the Government of India as well as the individual states. The exam is conducted in three phases’ Pre, Mains & Interview. IAS Exam 2020 Dates Date of UPSC Notification: 12 February 2020 Last Date to Apply: 03 March 2020 (Apply Online) Date of UPSC IAS PRE Exam: 31 May 2020 (Sunday, 1 Day) Date of UPSC MAINS Exam: 18 September 2020 (5 Days) Eligibility Criteria for IAS Exam 2020 Nationality One must be a citizen of India. Age Limit One must be minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years of age as on August 1, 2020. There is also age relaxation of some years for reserved category candidates: Age Relaxation SC/ ST 5 Years OBC 3 Years Defence Services Personnel, disabled in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence thereof 3 Years Ex-servicemen including commissioned officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years of military service as on August 1, 2019 and have been released 5 Years PwD [(a) blindness and low vision; (b) deaf and hard of hearing; (c) locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy; (d) autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness; and (e) multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (d) including deaf-blindness] 10 Years No age relaxation is provided to the Economically Weaker Sections in the UPSC Civil Services Exam. Educational Qualification One must hold a graduation degree in any stream from any university established under the Act passed by the Parliament of India or State legislature. One in the last year of the graduation and awaiting results is also eligible to apply for IAS Preliminary exam. However, such candidates need to submit the proof of passing the requisite exam at the time of applying for the Main exam. Physical Standards One must be physically fit according to physical standards given in the Civil Services exam notification. Number of Attempts in IAS Exam One is allowed a maximum of six attempts in the IAS exam. One belonging to OBC and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities categories is allowed a maximum of nine attempts in the exam. If one appears in any one paper of the IAS Prelims Exam, then it is deemed that he has made an attempt in the IAS Exam. |
