One needs to appear for a common aptitude test - Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) - conducted by the Joint Implementation Committee of JEE Advanced. Only one that is able to clear the exam with a good enough AIR in JEE Advanced can get admission in one of the IITs. Architecture Aptitude Test Eligibility Other than being eligible for both JEE Main & JEE Advanced: One must be a citizen of India. PIO/ OCI/ Foreign applicants can apply. One needs to qualify in both JEE Mains and JEE advanced. One must have opted for appearing in the AAT exam during the registration of JEE Advanced. Failing to do so, one will not be eligible to appear for the exam. Process to fill up Application Form The registration for AAT (Architecture Aptitude Test) to starts in June. The students who have registered for the AAT (Architecture Aptitude Test) will be able to appear on the entrance exam. Steps to fill the application form: Apply Online Enter JEE Advanced Registration Number Enter Mobile Number Enter Email Address Login Admit Card The admit card for AAT is not issued separately. One has to carry the JEE Advanced Admit Card to appear for the exam. On the day of the exam one shall be also allowed to carry own geometry sets and colours, including water colors. Results The results for AAT will be declared within 5 days from the day of examination and the cut-off score for qualifying the exam will be decided by the committee of JEE Advanced. One securing marks above the cut-off will be declared pass and no separate rank will be provided for AAT exam. The seat allotment will be done on the basis of category-wise All India Rank of JEE Advanced given that one has secured more marks than the cut-off declared. Counselling Candidates who have cleared the AAT will be called for the counselling process. JoSAA Counselling (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) manages seat allotment and combined counselling procedure for admission in IIT Kharagpur or IIT Roorkee. One can be able to participate in the seating procedure and fill their choices of courses. Cut off Minimum marks which the candidates have to secure to be eligible for admission will be present in the cut off of JEE Advanced AAT. This acts as a screening process and the candidates who meet the cut off will have higher chances of admission. A number of factors related to the entrance examination will be considered while preparing the JEE Advanced AAT cut off. AAT Syllabus Syllabus: The syllabus will be based on a drawing which is decided by the conducting authority for conducting AAT Freehand Drawing Freehand drawing consists of simple drawing depicting the total object in its right form and proportion, surface texture, relative location and details of its component parts in an appropriate scale. Common domestic or day-to-day life usable objects like furniture, equipment, etc., from memory. Geometrical Drawing Exercises in geometrical drawing containing lines, triangles, angles, quadrilaterals, circles, polygons, etc., study of plan (top view), elevation (front or side views) of simple solid objects like cones, prisms, cylinders, splayed surface holders, cubes, etc. Three-Dimensional Perception Appreciation and understanding of 3-dimensional forms with building elements, color, volume, and orientation Visualization through structuring objects in memory Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity Composition exercise with given elements. Context mapping Creativity check through an innovative uncommon test with familiar objects The sense of color grouping or application Architectural Awareness General interest and awareness of famous architectural creations - both national and international, places and personalities (architects, designers, etc.) in the related domain AAT Exam Pattern Mode: The AAT will be conducted by Offline i.e. Pen and Paper-based Test [PBT] Questions: The question will be from 5 different topics based on drawing. Sections: The question paper will contain 5 sections which are Geometrical Drawing, Freehand Drawing, Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity, Architectural Awareness, and Three Dimensional Perception. Duration: The time given to complete AAT will be 3 hours i.e. 180 minutes. Medium: The question paper will be in English.
